I went to Waiheke island yesterday. It was a big island filled with olive vineyard and wine vineyards. I drank some wine, ate some food and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Here are some photos!
Today I'm heading to Gisborne for the weekend. It should be beautiful as well!!

Wake Me Up Im Dreaming
First stop...Hobbiton! Must I say more then that?!?!
Well people who are as totally nerdy as me I was in "Hobbiton!" It was super quick and not actually even the real place cause you need to take a tour to get there but there was a sign and I took full advantage of getting proof with that! (please note picture).
Next up...Taragon. It started off fabulously as we ate coconut ice cream and got to the boat. The boat was great...more then that actually. We had some wine and played some tri-minos (a bastard of a game I will nrver bring back to our family). The next day we went for a bike ride. You know, I'm often eager to do things and think them through later. This has proved awesome and terrible many times during this trip. Well this morning bike ride was no exception. Don't worry this was one of those awesome times...well that's what I told my ass after getting friendly with a bike seat for 45km. That was just the start of the day. It continued to napping (surprised), beach, surfing (legit), hot pools, and more stupid tri-minos (I don't know if you can tell but I never won a single stupid game). I think I should rewind here for a minute...SURFING. Boo yeah I surfed. I did it a few times too and I don't want to brag but kicked ass (here's to hoping Nick doesn 't read this and completely disagree with me haha). It was a choice wave, mean ride and basically a sweet as time. That roughly translates to...it was a great wave, awesome ride and epic time. I'll be a kiwi yet!
Today was a day that I still don't want to end. We got out on the water at 8 and returned at 7. It was so beautiful and the weather was just perfect! We went for a snorkel and saw a stingray just swimming about. We also saw lots of fish and Nick caught a tuna. It was too good to put into words.
To be honest though, I never expected such hospitality. I've heard New Zealand is an incredible place and kiwis are equally beautiful people. This family has seriously let me into their family and has showed me more in a week then I could imagine. I love it here!
On a side note...my leg is doing much better. Dianne, I pulled at my blonde roots and decided to fall out of a tree within 5 hours of being in NZ. The salt water here is clean and cold so it cleans it out nicely! Also Dianne, the one pic is from the museum and it's of those shells we were finding in St. Lucia that are dinosaur old. Just thought I'd take a pic of it. Otherwise, the pictures are of my weekend away! And you can thank Uncle Frank for all of the pics. I am trying to keep up with him!
Love you all and seriously hope thou can see this place one day.

Finally Left My Comfort Zone
Oh my goodness! Well today I was walking to the store to get some milk and I ended up on a bus headed for the city. I figured I had enough days sitting inside so I'd finally venture from the house on my own. Well 4 hours later and a few rain storms I'm soaking wet, sitting on the bus waiting to get my milk.
The museum was huge and very impressive. There is 3 floors and covers almost everything. My favorite part was the ocean and the aquariums. It was good to get out and I'm glad that I did but if I could just get home now that would be even better!
I'm in a bit of a mud hole (as in I'm stuck in a rutt). I feel like I don't want to backpack anymore. I feel like I have made it and I am so happy to be here that I just want to stay and take my time exploring both islands. I seriously need to take some time and figure out what I'm going to get up to. For so long New Zealand has been my dream destination and now that I'm finally here I don't want to go. I love the rain, crazy transit, ocean and the most friendly people.
Here are some pics from my day. I wish that I had more to show you like uncle franks blog but it's rain and stop lights where I currently am!
Sheeva eyes in the tank, a sea urchin, a giant piece of wood, a giant shell (seriously as big as me), a cool fossil with other dinosaur fish, hunting and fishing tools from days gone past.

Auckland
So first off...i have read uncle franks blog and mine is nothing like it! So I hope your enjoying both. Don't be fooled though, I am learning things just maybe not to quite an extent!
New Zealand is what I expected plus more. I have been here for 5 days and have fallen in love...with the country! It's been a journey to get here but I have finally reached my final destination.
It all started when I unfortunately claimed that I was in a rainforest within the last 30 days. That lead to a 2.5 hour wait in the customs line up for the lady to not even pick up my mud/blood covered shoes. So as frustrated and excited as I could get I threw Robert on the X-ray machine only to have them spot something more. I sifted through my bag and found a bar of soap....yes my bar of soap set off the scanner. Just as I'd had almost as much as I could take a grubby, mustache wearing customs man said "no soap allowed in NZ, we like dirty girls here". I grabbed my soap, packed up Robert and walked away without saying another word. At this point in time it was 5pm and I was suppose to arrive at 3pm. I was terrified that Nick left and I would be stranded but as I walked out of the doors for the first time in all of the airports, there was a face I knew!
Now a little background on Nick, I met him for maybe 8 minutes on new years eve and after mom ran around in a mad scramble to get a pen I got his number. He said I'm from Auckland and I said I'm going there do you want to be my friend. I'm probably imagining it went much smoother then it actually was as i was drunk and Jenna was bouncing back and forth trying to pull me away from him. Regardless though, we are friends.
So from the airport we grabbed a case beer and headed straight to Piha beach. It was lovely, warm and took my breath away. From there I saw some parts of Auckland including the Yaht club, public beach and food. The next day we headed back to Piha and went for a quick 20min hike up to "the coffin" which is a fresh water creek that falls over a rock and into a deep hole that is maybe 1.5 meters wide. It's actually just like a coffin. So we jumped off the rock which was probably 12' high (I thought I'd die) and sun bathed on the most beautiful landscape. When you looked around it was lush green mountainous hill all around and it was private and so peaceful. I loved it! After the swim Nick went surfing and Guiness and I played on the beach. The previous pictures were from out beach time at Piha. We headed home, packed the car and headed to Splore! Now Splore was a whirlwind of epic adventures and it blew my mind. For 3 days I was on a beach partying with 6500 other people listening to some really good music. That being said I will let your imagination fill in how much fun I had :)
I'm now chillaxing in Auckland and loving every minute of it. I have so many options and choices that I need a few days to wrap my head around what is going on and where I am! I'm considering buying a car to travel around or maybe I'll try and work under the table and just hang out longer. I have a lot of things to sort out and me not wanting to be a planner I'm having a hard time with it. If you have any suggestions I'll gladly take them!
Much love,

Final Call for Auckland
Once again making it to the airport was a mad rush for me! My alarm went off at 4:30am and at 6:30 I turned it off. Oops!! Thanks to a very expensive taxi I made it here at 7 and I am now waiting for my delayed flight. Typical.
Sydney was great. It was beautiful and I really had a lot of fun. I didn't do much but for a week I hung out with friends and felt at home. I did do a lot of walking. From King Cross to the famous bridge and back many times and on the beach walkway from Bondi to some other beach haha. I tried surfing and a meat pie. I met some awesome people from Australia and had a few drinks with many more from everywhere but Australia!

Bondi Love!
After a night out in the famous Kings Cross I hopped on a train and headed for Bondi Beach. It is an amazing little suburb of Sydney that is right on the ocean. When I stepped off the bus the sun was shining, men were shirtless an surf boards were everywhere. It was heaven as far as I was concerned :) To sweeten my moment Emily Krebs walked around the corner! Emily is a really good friend of Jordans but she thinks I'm pretty cute so she likes me too. It was the best hug I've had in a long time and being with someone who you truly know felt so different. I am staying with her probably for the test of my time in Aus.
Yesterday I sat on the beach. It's big and beautiful and sunny! After so much time in a jungle area I got a bit too much sun and am hiding some areas today! Last night I had the best sleep I've had in so long. No one else in the room making noise, no need to check out or make it in time for breakfast. I slept for almost 12 hours! Today Emily and I got a coffee ($4.80 L latte) and walked to Coogee beach. It was beautiful and I'm heading back there now to enjoy the sun, surf and surfers.
I was homesick for about 2 minutes yesterday (worst) and was wondering what the heck I'm up to and decided I needed to have some responsibility and will see if I can work in NZ. It's just so much like home I feel that I should be working! I'll see how I feel when I get there and what happens!! I'm ready for another spur of the moment adventure again! My legs look terrible but im sticking to my stories and workin it haha. I am now listening to some Paul Brandt's "home" and enjoying the memories of home and the moment of where I am.
Emily and I are going to go to the blue mountains on Monday/Tuesday and then I leave thurs already. It's crazy how fast time is going by.
I just want to make sure you know how much I love you all and that I miss you.
PS my pictures last time were of some very important steps, sunrise from the plane, and some others. This time it's me and em, licking the salty wall (not sure why), bondi beach (the big one), and the views to Coogee beach.

Australia!
Hello!!
So sorry that its been forever since I blogged but the internet is seriously far and few between. I would love to be able to write that I have been having the most amazing time and doing all of these crazy things...but I cant.
I have been staying with Emily in her spare bed and trying to save as much money as possible. I have been living at Bondi beach which is beautiful. I am happy to be here for sure and am enjoying my time but I feel like I am not here long enough to actually get into the Australian country and landscape therefore I have opted to not really see any of it! My days have been fillled with sun, sand and a little bit of surf. I have been relaxing and catching up on my sleep as it feels like the first time I am slowing down since I started. It has been nice but I am ready to start exploring again!
I leave for New Zealand on Thursday and am so excited to go and see what the country is like. The weather is suppose to be beautiful and the landscape even better. It's going to be good to finally be the place I've wanted to be all along!!
I will probably write again in a week when I am in New Zealand after the music festivale.
Much Love!

Sydney
After breaking the bank and spending the day doing some laundry I am out and about in Sydney. I have walked to the Sydney Opera House and let me tell ya...I was expecting Whister and got Fairmont. They had a wall of pictures and things other people said about it and that swayed my mind but it wasn't what I was expecting. I visited it again at night and it was beautiful then. I'm off to Bondi beach today to stay with a girl from home. I'm excited to see someone i know! the weather Is not great but it looks much more promising today! Hopefully a suntan is in order :)

So Much To Do
The past week has been one of the most incredible weeks of my life. It was so much more then I could have expected and has been a real turning point in my travels. Now unfortunately I didn't blog any part of it along the way so now this is my week in review!
It all started when I landed in Surabaya from Singapore. I was finally back in indonesia and was so happy about it! I stayed in an apartment/hotel which was different but fine. There was a university across the street so the students used "The Square" as residence. Coming from Singapore where I felt so safe I decided to go to the shopping mall. There wasn't much there and I got some new shirts for $1.50 each - a huge difference from Singapore!
I got to the airport at 10:45 for my 11:30 flight and boarded the plane at 12:30. After a 3 hr delay and a change of planes we took off to Batam then Medan. I met a girl on the plane who helped me through the delays (Indo language) and she ended up reading my palm. Apparently I'll marry for life and my husband will bring in all the money, but I'll be happy. I got to Medan at 7pm which threw my plans a bit. I spent the night there and headed for Berastagi in the morning. I took 2 public buses to get me there and that was an interesting adventure in itself! I wore my hat to try and hide my blonde hair...I am convincing myself it worked! It took 3 hours to get to Berastagi and I took the first guest house available.
In the morning me and a Danish fella headed off at 7:30 to trek Mt. Sinabung, the largest volcano in a chain around Indonesia. It was hell! Straight up for 3 hours and straight down for 3 hours. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life but I survived it and am happy I did it. I managed of course to add to my damaged legs but that was expected. That night I slept like a baby :) The picture is the volcano from on top f a hill I hiked up.
The next morning I was planning on going to Lake Toba but it would take 6 hours to drive there and I would only have a night. 2 guys, Abdar and Thomas, let me tag along with them to Bukit Lawang to see the Orangatangs. It took us about 7 hours there by bus to get there plus a very shady operation of bus tickets. We took a rickety bridge to a hotel and after an intense game of rock-paper-scissors, Thomas and I got the bed while Abdar got the floor. It was the beginning of an awesome friendship!
The overnight trekking was expensive and we opted to do a 3 hour trek for $15. We started at 8:30 and saw the biggest Orangatang, weighing in at 95kg, within 20 minutes. He was a real charmer and practically posed for us! In total we trekked for 5 hours, saw 2 different species of monkeys, a toucan, 3 Orangatangs, and a beautiful rain forest! When we got back from our trek our guide invited us for dinner at his place. We all went to the market and got some dinner supplies. We got carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, other green veggies, Tempe, watermelon, 2 live chickens that were fillet in a bag within 10 minutes , and a bottle of him. All of that cost the 3 of us $120,000 (=$12). We went back to the hotel to nap and shower then headed to his place around 7. Dinner was delicious and we just kept eating! We had Tempe with this delicious soya saucy stuff, French fried (that I had to prepare cause I'm a woman and my place is in the kitchen), grilled chicken over an open fire, vegetable curry, rice , watermelon, beer and gin! Some of his fiends came over to help cook and eat with us and it was a real experience not to mention fun. We played games after dinner until we went to a private party. This party was a family celebrating someone graduating and thy hired a singer from Medan to come and entertain. Of course I danced the night away and when we left I was kissed and photographed by everyone at the party. It was weally weally so fun (as Thomas would say!). We left Bukit Lawang the next day at 12 to get back to Medan.
We got to Medan just as the rain started and managed I run to a hostel not far from the bus stop. It was a Cary place but only $80,000 for the 3 of us so we stayed. Once again R-P-S battle left me and Thomas on the bed (either way I was sleeping on the bed as I did NOT trust what was living in that foamy). We decide we needed a beer after our journey and hit the town in style! We went to a few clubs and danced our socks off. There are A LOT of gay people here so I had fun pawning the boys off to others whole I enjoyed dancing with everyone. Plus the compliments from all the gays weren't bad either :) We danced till 4am when we took a tuk-tuk back to our hotel. We barely fit which made the ending to our night even better. The next day we got up at 12 and headed to the mall. I did a small amount of shopping and we wasted enough time to get back and be ready to go out again. I went for a pedicure then was ready to do a market crawl. We walked up and down the streets sharing a meal of whatever they were making. We ate some really intersting food but it was one of the best meals yet. One was veggies and fruit in a soya peanut sauce. Spicy, salty and sweet oh my god it was good. We ended our crawl with fresh crab and fish then headed to an outdoor street club where I danced yet again and we drank beer till 4 am when I had to go to the airport.
I did so much that I wouldn't have done on my own and am so glad that I just invited myself to join with those guys. It was a whole new Indonesia for me which once again made me fall in love with it. Medan is a busy city but the people are nice and I never had a problem with them. Besides being a bit tired I'm doing good and feeling good. I'm not sure what to expect in Australia but if they have toilet paper when you go to the bathroom I'm happy! I jut need to do some major grocery shopping and I'm ready to not spend any money!
