Looking back on our blog it is pretty cool to see what we have done in the past 5 weeks. Jenna my love, come back.
We have spent 2 nights on this island and have decided to stay another 5 nights. We are staying one night where we currently are which is an alright room but since Jordan and mom are leaving they want to step up the fancy. We are moving to a room that is in a hotel and is a lot fancier. We should be moving on after seeing this island but moving is more stressful then sitting on this beach so we're stayin!
Thailand is a very different culture then Indonesia. First off the most popular religion is Buddhism. That means not much "Ach Baad" which is the muslim prayer we heard ALL the time in Indo. There are some major differences we've notices though. First off, the Thai people are not as friendly. We have found on the island they do only what they need to. They dont smile back at you or talk to you unless you have money to spend. Now we are bias because we are on an island and dot have enough time to see the whole county. The beaches are covered in garbage and the ocean is full of beer bottles. Accommodations are expensive and so is the food and gifts. The landscape of this country is something that should be seen once in your life and is truly breath taking. The weather is also very different-mainly drier.
Thailand, to me, developed so quickly and had the reputation of being cheap and easy that the tourism has exploded but there has been no change in the way tourism is received.
Our plans for the next 5 days include taking a boat trip to some other islands, sitting on the beach and soaking up whatever we can from the sunshine!

Good to see you are finally getting the good weather. Sorry to hear the Thai's aren't as friendly...but you'll make the best of it. Hopefully you'll find some beautiful sea shells among the beach debris. We love your posts and look forward to them. Good job Taryn et al.
