Wake Me Up Im Dreaming

First stop...Hobbiton! Must I say more then that?!?!

Well people who are as totally nerdy as me I was in "Hobbiton!" It was super quick and not actually even the real place cause you need to take a tour to get there but there was a sign and I took full advantage of getting proof with that! (please note picture).

Next up...Taragon. It started off fabulously as we ate coconut ice cream and got to the boat. The boat was great...more then that actually. We had some wine and played some tri-minos (a bastard of a game I will nrver bring back to our family). The next day we went for a bike ride. You know, I'm often eager to do things and think them through later. This has proved awesome and terrible many times during this trip. Well this morning bike ride was no exception. Don't worry this was one of those awesome times...well that's what I told my ass after getting friendly with a bike seat for 45km. That was just the start of the day. It continued to napping (surprised), beach, surfing (legit), hot pools, and more stupid tri-minos (I don't know if you can tell but I never won a single stupid game). I think I should rewind here for a minute...SURFING. Boo yeah I surfed. I did it a few times too and I don't want to brag but kicked ass (here's to hoping Nick doesn 't read this and completely disagree with me haha). It was a choice wave, mean ride and basically a sweet as time. That roughly translates to...it was a great wave, awesome ride and epic time. I'll be a kiwi yet!

Today was a day that I still don't want to end. We got out on the water at 8 and returned at 7. It was so beautiful and the weather was just perfect! We went for a snorkel and saw a stingray just swimming about. We also saw lots of fish and Nick caught a tuna. It was too good to put into words.

To be honest though, I never expected such hospitality. I've heard New Zealand is an incredible place and kiwis are equally beautiful people. This family has seriously let me into their family and has showed me more in a week then I could imagine. I love it here!

On a side note...my leg is doing much better. Dianne, I pulled at my blonde roots and decided to fall out of a tree within 5 hours of being in NZ. The salt water here is clean and cold so it cleans it out nicely! Also Dianne, the one pic is from the museum and it's of those shells we were finding in St. Lucia that are dinosaur old. Just thought I'd take a pic of it. Otherwise, the pictures are of my weekend away! And you can thank Uncle Frank for all of the pics. I am trying to keep up with him!

Love you all and seriously hope thou can see this place one day.

  1. Hi Taryn, I guess I commented on the wrong blog. I missed this one until I started to go through it again. I love the water pictures and it sure sounds like you had a great fun filled weekend. I don't like the looks of your leg,but guess it still works if you can bike that far and surf as well. Glad that you are having fun. Love you Lots Gram
